Balancing efficiency with availability is a challenge in every data center. WES has been helping customers optimize their data center for over 25 years.

The program includes the following major work elements:

WES Infrastructure Services focus on the often overlooked critical components of the data processing center. These services will be custom tailored to meet the sites specific requirements.

Energy & Cooling Overview
The Energy & Cooling Overview (ECO) is a targeted service designed to help customers evaluate and maximize cooling and power efficiency to get the most out of the space they have available while still maintaining the availability necessary to support mission critical operations.

The service is designed as baseline to help understand the power, space and cooling issues of a subject area by looking at computing technology, facility infrastructure and space planning in relation to a defined set of target hardware. The service is designed to provide a targeted evaluation of a predetermined, finite hardware group. Typically, this Target Equipment will be housed in a dedicated area. In those circumstances where the Target Equipment is a subset of a larger room housing other hardware, this service will focus on the Target Equipment, but will also include general best practices information and a general room screening designed to help identify “red flags” or warning signs that may require remediation or further investigation.

Air Distribution Optimization Program
The WES staff will make adjustments to air distribution tile placement and the number of tiles in an effort to optimize conditioned air distribution efficiency within the existing design of the subject area. Additional actions may include resizing or filling access floor cut-outs, or adjusting environmental support equipment set-points.

Environmental Monitoring & Support
The Environmental Monitoring & Support Program (EMP) is a program of periodic site assessments and remote technical support designed to provide practical assistance with the issues that arise in a complex and dynamic facility. It provides many of the same benefits as the Environmental Site Assessment (ESA), with the addition of direct assistance for implementation of corrective actions and an ongoing resource to address both existing issues and future planning needs.
