Environmental Field Engineer
Worldwide Environmental Services, a Philadelphia-based world leader in computer room environmental consulting and remediation services, is seeking Environmental Field Engineers.
The WES Environmental Field Engineer is responsible for on-site inspections at customer data center facilities throughout the USA, with limited international travel possible. Duties include:
- General room design inspection and evaluation.
- Review of environmental support equipment.
- Review of building monitoring system data.
- Conditioned air distribution assessment.
- Measurement of temperatures, relative humidity levels, airflow, pressure differentials, and airborne particulate concentrations.
- Collection of field samples for lab analysis.
- Analysis of conditions measured and their relation to data center hardware specifications and industry standards.
- Preparation of reports detailing site conditions.
The WES Environmental Field Engineer position requires an understanding of building design and mechanical HVAC systems. Ability to review blue-prints, single line drawings and schematics, assess design issues, interface with customers and other industry specialists and trouble-shoot environmental problems. Good writing skills and computer experience necessary. Candidate will also be cross-trained in other aspects of environmental assessment, such as hardware design, cable management, equipment grounding practices, etc.
Engineering degree strongly desired, though other relevant degrees will be considered with appropriate experience. Hands-on experience with test equipment or familiarity with computer room environments a plus. Entry-level to senior positions available.

Power Quality Field Engineer
Worldwide Environmental Services, a Philadelphia-based world leader in computer room environmental consulting and remediation services, is seeking Field Engineers for our Power Quality Division.
The WES Power Quality Field Engineer is responsible for on-site inspections at customer data center facilities throughout the USA, with limited international travel possible. Duties include:
- General design review of electrical systems with focus on identification of problem areas or single points of failure.
- Review of any available on site power monitoring.
- Examination of grounding and static dissipation issues and concerns.
- Connection of monitoring equipment to record real-time measurements and short-term trends of power conditions (voltage, current, harmonics, power factor, transients, etc.) at the PDUs serving the subject equipment or at the subject equipment itself.
- Analysis of conditions measured and their relation to hardware specifications and industry standards.
- Preparation of reports detailing site conditions.
The WES Power Quality Field Engineer position requires a thorough knowledge and understanding of basic electrical design, critical power generation and distribution (generators, UPS, battery, PDU, etc.), and grounding issues. Ability to review blue-prints, single line drawings and schematics, assess design issues, interface with customers and other industry specialists, and trouble-shoot electrical problems. Good writing skills and computer experience necessary. Candidate will also be cross-trained in other aspects of environmental assessment, such as hardware design, temperature, relative humidity, air distribution, and contaminant concerns.
Electrical Engineering degree strongly desired, though other relevant degrees will be considered with appropriate experience. Hands-on experience with critical power systems or familiarity with computer room environments a plus. Electrician or hardware engineer experience preferred. Entry-level to senior positions available.
